Mesa State Theater is rated first in technical theater and second overall in a Denver Post ranking of Colorado Colleges. From September to May, four mainstage shows are produced ranging from light comedies to musicals to classics. Performances take place in the 600-seat William S. Robinson Theater in the Moss Performing Arts Center, 1100 North Avenue, Grand Junction. Also in the Moss Performing Arts Center is the intimate Mesa Experimental Theater (MET). The space features student-directed works, drama society productions and other shows that are out of the ordinary.

Western Colorado's first professional dinner theater. Providing entertainment to more than 60000 people each year, the Cabaret is Grand Junction's only year round dinner theater. Offering a variety of mainstream productions as well as a children's theater with performances by paid adult actors.

Two Chairs Theater Company was created to promote new voices in the theater and bring new experiences to audiences in the Grand Valley by producing original scripts and existing works of merit with an emphasis on providing a theatrical venue for Colorado playwrights.
